Susan E. Crawford, DO
Pathology Collaborator
Dr. Crawford is a physician-scientist who has practiced pathology for more than 25 years. After fellowship training in pediatric pathology at Lurie Children’s Hospital in Chicago, she stayed on as faculty for more than 20 years at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine. She has acted as the Director of Perinatal Pathology at Northwestern Memorial Hospital and focused on congenital syndromes and cardiac transplantation biology. She currently runs a research laboratory and holds a position of Director of Experimental Pathology & Imaging at NorthShore University Research Institute, an affiliate of University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine. She has led several NIH-funded cancer biology research programs, opened the first molecular diagnostic lab at the children’s medical center and regularly acts as a reviewer for the NIH and peer-reviewed scientific journals.
