Michael Rivers
Digital Pathology Advisor
Michael Rivers is a senior diagnostics executive and recognized leader in digital pathology with more than 20 years of experience spanning product strategy, innovation, commercialization and business leadership. Most recently, he served as Vice President and Lifecycle Leader for Digital Pathology at Roche Tissue Diagnostics, where he led the strategy, development and commercialization of Roche’s digital pathology portfolio.
During his tenure at Roche, Michael held a range of executive and commercial leadership positions across tissue diagnostics. Prior to leading Digital Pathology, he served as General Manager of the research business, with responsibility for Roche’s DISCOVERY product line and Spring Bioscience. His experience encompasses the translation of emerging diagnostic technologies into scalable clinical and commercial solutions, with particular expertise in digital pathology, computational pathology, artificial intelligence and the evolving role of digital technologies within anatomic pathology.
Michael has also held prominent leadership positions within the Digital Pathology Association. He served as President of the Association and currently serves as President of the Digital Pathology Association Foundation. He has additionally contributed to industry initiatives focused on reimbursement, market access and the broader adoption of digital pathology.
